School Counseling Curriculum

Our Counseling program at Koontz Intermediate uses the Second Step curriculum. The Second Step Curriculum is a researched based curriculum and is designed to help students develop skills that will support both academic and social growth.  The curriculum helps to teach skills for learning, empathy, emotional regulation, and problem solving.  For more information about the curriculum you may visit www.cfchildren.org/second-step.aspx.

We also use other researched based programs to address social emotional skills such as but not limited to self awareness, self management, responsible decision making, relationship skills and social awareness.
