Our Counseling program here at Koontz Intermediate uses the Second Step curriculum. The Second Step Curriculum is a researched based curriculum and is designed to help students develop skills that will support both academic and social growth.  The curriculum helps to teach skills for learning, empathy, emotional regulation, and problem solving.  For more information about the curriculum you may visit www.cfchildren.org/second-step.aspx.
We strive to present the information and have activities that lead to rich discussions that allow the students to understand the concept and apply it to their own lives.
